This is the time of year when you can knock two items off your to-do list:
• Make a dent in your holiday shopping
• Support your favorite PBS show
All purchases in the Chef's Life online store go to support the making of the show, which viewers have grown to love over the last five seasons.
The funding model for television shows that appear on PBS is not the same as for those that air on Netflix, Amazon Prime, cable television or the major networks. In those cases, the media outlets pay for the content. On PBS, the show's creators, like chef Vivian Howard and filmmaker Cynthia Hill, not only have to make the show, they also have to raise money to pay for the making of the show each season. While PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting may provide some financial support, the majority of the funding comes from corporate sponsors and individual donors. One way viewers like you can directly support the show is by purchasing t-shirts, tea towels and the new apron in our online store.
As they say on PBS, A Chef's Life is made possible by viewers like you.
Thank you for your support and happy holidays!
