Aperol Spritz

Rule
Thanksgiving can mean a house full of guests or a table full of family and friends. If you are the resident bartender and want to branch out, Vivian suggests the classic Italian cocktail, an Aperol Spritz. It combines sparkling wine, soda water and Aperol, an Italian liqueur made from bitter and sweet oranges and herbs. For the sparkling wine, Vivian recommends North Carolina's own Biltmore Estate Blanc de Blancs or Blanc Noir.

Ice cubes
2 ounces sparkling wine, like Biltmore Estate Blanc de Blancs or Blanc Noir
1 1/4 ounces Aperol
Splash of soda water
Half an orange slice
Pour sparkling wine, Aperol and soda water over ice cubes in a wine or cocktail glass. Garnish with half an orange slice. Enjoy!
